PICTURES NORTH & SOUTH AMERICA
We definitely know South America much better than North America. During our 1-year-RTW we have spent 6 month in South America only. Nina has lived in Chile for 2 month back in 1995 and together we travelled to Peru once in 2005. Anyway, Canada is a place we really love (sorry, no digital pics so far). Nina went there already 3 times, Markus 1. How can we not love a country that is the leading
one when it comes to vegan food! As far as the USA is concerned, Nina only came here shortly to Pittsburgh and New York and Markus travelled through Florida.
You like our pictures? Then we would be happy for a small coffee so that we can continue giving you a lot of nice content :-). TX!
We had a difficult start in Argentina when we first arrived by bus in Bariloche - no accomodation, terrible weather, high prices and too many tourists. But by visiting more places we started to enjoy this country more and more. Now it is one of the dearest country for us when it comes to people. If there were not these huge amounts of meat they eat there....
The poorest country in South America - but wow, we were blown away by its nature beauty and also by the mentality of the people. They are simple, hard-working and a bit shy. But once you have a friend in Bolivia, he/she does everything for your. What a wonderful time did we have here.
What a divers country. By being so long, Chile offers everything: from the Atacama Desert to the Patagonian Mountains. It is our favourite country in South America. And it is very different to the other countries. Let's say special..... in every aspect. And special things are always fascinating for us!
The first country on our RTW trip. We spent 7 weeks here and we packed in everything - like life in a nutshell: big city life, cultural experiences, lush hills, volcanoes, deep green rainforests, high altitudes, wildlife, food poisoning, beaches and High mountains. We climbed Mount Cotopaxi in a snowstorm and were completely frozen (imagine icicles hanging on your eyebrows), we rode 6 hours on top of a train through the country, we experienced a fire in our accomodation and had a highly poisonous spider on the hand..... Fun, diverse, interesting and challenging.
Having family in Lima, we came here for the wedding of a cousin and combined this trip with a visit and some serious hiking around Huaraz in the north. And we went to Paracas, Ica and Huacachina. Still, Cusco, Arequipa and Macchu Picchu are on our bucketlist.
We only came to Uruguay because the flight from Ushuaia back north was cheap. We had no clue what to expect from this country. And we instantly liked it so much, we spent 10 days here over christmas and new year. The country itself is just flat, but the people are amazing, the beaches are beautiful and the cities fun. Just the food was not our favourite.
We do not have many pictures about our trips to the US mainly because at that time we did not make digitial photos. Sailesh travelled through Florida once, Nina made a quick stop in Pittsburg on the way to Toronto/Canada once and went to New York on a business trip. Maybe in the future more pictures will follow.
